A ridiculous and unfair comparison

“ Oct. 21, 2019 is Canada’s second D Day. Make no mistake this D -Day is every bit as important as the one that took place in 1945. “ (Editor’s note: we missed the error last week, but D-Day was actually 1944.

How can someone even make this comparison!?

Choosing to send thousands of young men to their deaths in one day so thousands more could die in a slow liberation of many countries, hundreds of millions of people, and end the greatest war of all time and forever change the course of history.

Or choose between two men to lead one of those most privileged countries in the world, the outcome of which, may or may not make a difference depending on your personal agenda.

I feel one of these D-DAYs is a degree more important and a comparison like this out of touch and disrespectful to those who made the ultimate sacrifice so the whole world could be a better place.
