Can we keep the noise down please?

Dear editor: I respect a person’s choice of vehicle, whether it’s a muscle car built for speed, a crotch rocket, a Harley or a normal, everyday off the assembly line car.

Dear editor:

I respect a person’s choice of vehicle, whether it’s a muscle car built for speed, a crotch rocket, a Harley or a normal, everyday off the assembly line car.

What I don’t respect or appreciate are those drivers of muscle cars/trucks with oversized engines and huge exhausts or Harleys, punching it as they drive by my home, no matter what time of day or night. I really don’t care to listen to, nor am impressed by, the loud, irritating sound of their engines. I don’t appreciate my peaceful time at home being rudely interrupted and disturbed by these people who seem to think that everyone loves their choice of vehicle.

Please respect my choice of a peaceful evening the same way I respect your choice of vehicle, and leave the annoying noise you produce for the highway, not the residential streets of Cochrane.

The increased traffic in Cochrane in the past year is bad enough without our peaceful world being blasted by your choice of transportation. Not everyone loves it, as hard as that may be for you to believe. And not all owners of these noisy vehicles are guilty of blasting the peace & quiet of this town, so it is possible to ride around like everyone else.

Please have some respect for those that don’t appreciate the noise.
