Christmas Eve at Urgent Care

Dear editor:

I read in the Dec. 26 edition of the Cochrane Eagle that you are encouraging readers to write in and not to be shy or nervous, and definitely not to be silent about a situation that is good or bad. You wanted to hear about it, well, I am taking you up on this opportunity.

I am in from Victoria visiting some friends who live off Lochend Road and had the need to visit Cochrane’s Urgent Care Centre on Christmas Eve day. Entering the Urgent Care Centre reminded me of going to Wal-Mart on Boxing Day and waiting for the doors to open — so many people.

I want to extend a big thank you to the staff — administration support, nurses, x-ray technicians, lab technicians, physicians, security — and others who were probably there but not visible. The staff and providers at this center are amazing. Not only were they efficient, but they saw to it that everyone was registered, listened to and saw a provider that could help them with their problem, and they did all this with a sense of humour.

Please extend my thanks to the staff that worked the Urgent Care Centre on Christmas Eve. The staff made what could have been an unpleasant experience a pleasant one. Thank you – you are great!
