Apparently Lloyd Leugner hasn't been talking to any of the lawyers, accountants, oilmen, bankers or former MLAs that my friends and I have been talking to over the years.
They all point their fingers at Ralph Klein for this mess we are in and why wouldn't you? Leugner finds it smart to call anyone who doesn't think like him a Liberal Socialist, because he is such a conservative genius, yet he's the guy that's supporting a well known Liberal. Had he bothered to check into Jason Kenney's background he would find that he was Justin Trudeau's right hand man Ralph Goodale's assistant in the Liberal Party in Regina.
Just like his hero Ralph Klein, Kenney has never been a true conservative. In his thirst for power, he will tell you anything , or do anything to get elected, including changing parties and everything he offers will make things a lot worse for Albertans and Leugner doesn't care. The fact is true conservatives don't blindly support just anyone who attaches the word conservative to their name, and believes every lie he tells them, like Leugner does.
My late parents and two sisters spent countless hours volunteering for the Lougheed and Getty governments. A brother in-law , in his spare time, voluntarily flew their government plane for them. Lougheed's mines and mineral's minister, energy minister today, Bill Dickie was a brother in-law of one of my uncles. We were all proud to support the conservatives who treated us with dignity and respect and ran this province properly.
Then along came Ralph Klein, whom our family had know since the early 1960s. When Klein was campaigning to become premier, his mother, Flo, told my mother that she didn't think he was capable of running this province properly. Mum assured her that we shared her concerns and no one in her family had any intention of supporting him, and we didn't. Mum said Flo wasn't surprised.
Then, when he began ramming through his destructive Reform Party policies, closing hospitals, closing 1,500 hospital beds, and cutting 5,000 nursing positions, while he gave away billions in royalties and tax breaks, his estranged father, Phil, living in Edmonton, began voicing his concerns in the news media. He was furious with what his son was doing to this province, and before the last election Klein's own daughter Angie was urging all Albertans to vote for the NDP, knowing what these so-called conservatives had done to us.
The point is, members of the Klein family were smarter than the people who supported Ralph. Maybe Leugner should make an effort to read Ralph Klein's daughter supports NDP she knew what a disaster the flat tax was, yet Kenney is promising to lower it even more for his rich friends.
