Dear editor:

Finally, someone has taken on the task of forming a collective voice for Rocky View County residents, that being Enrique Massot.

Mr. Massot has stated, “In a bid to foster awareness and debate on Rocky View’s sorry state of affairs, the publisher of CountyNewsOnline will tour 16 county communities this week.” (Aug. 27-30).

“All residents are invited to approach the CountyNews’ blue Pathfinder for a chat, to receive an information package and to sign up for a Rocky View residents’ information mail list.”

Full details are on the website as to locations and times and my hope is that residents will take this opportunity to voice their concerns, opinions, rights as taxpayers, and prove that there is strength in numbers.

I have been a resident of Cochrane Lake for 30 years and no doubt you are aware of the man-made flooding of the lake and the resulting attempt by Rocky View County to tax the residents around the lake to “fix the mess”.

It took four years of flooding before Rocky View County decided it should be the taxpayers that are burdened with the result of gross negligence of government entities and a now-defunct developer.

Your community might be next!

Please attend the rally for Rocky View County in your area and speak up.
