Thank you for the help during a difficult time

Dear editor:

On the morning of Nov. 2, my brother and his wife, Bob and Sylvia Edwards, were returning to their home in California, after visiting family in Canada.

Just west of Calgary, on the Trans Canada Highway, Bob felt unwell and pulled over to the side of the road, where he collapsed.

Within a few seconds a forestry service worker stopped and started CPR. In a matter of minutes two cardiologists and an ER nurse also stopped to help and continued until EMTs arrived.

Unfortunately, they were not able to revive Bob and he passed away.

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to all these people who stopped to help, as well as to Julie, the RCMP officer from the Cochrane detachment, who stayed with Sylvia, made arrangements for a room at the Sandman Inn West and took her there.

All of these people, as well as the staff at the hotel, the medical examiner’s office, Big Hill Towing from Cochrane and Victim Services, were so caring and compassionate to Sylvia during this very hard time.

Our family is extremely grateful and thanks you all so much for all you did to help Bob and Sylvia.

Karen Clarke, Edmonton,

Sylvia Edwards, Novato California
