Dear editor:

The amazing C3 Event is happening March 21 from 2-9 p.m. at the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.

C3 stands for ‘Compete, Connect, Communicate – Together We Make A Difference.’ The purpose of this day is to have youth and community leaders meet while enjoying activities.

Several community partners and the Mayor’s Youth Council have come together to provide this free event for youth, with costs being covered by a crime prevention grant and community sponsors.

There will be a scavenger hunt, tons of door prizes, a composite artist with the RCMP demonstrating his skill, Fire Services providing fire extinguisher training, the recreation department displaying the Fun Van and many other groups with information tables.

Youth can have fun playing a sport or game, go skating, create an art project, enjoy music and share some tacos and ice cream with friends. While there, check out the gymnastics area, which is also booked. A DJ will play dance music from 7-9 p.m.

Rob Cote, a Calgary Stampeder and graduate of Cochrane High School, will be on site to inspire youth to go after their dreams.

This event is open to all Cochrane and area youth, and registration is online at cochranec3event.eventbrite.ca.

Transportation to the event is offered from Cochrane schools through the registration process for those who need it. Participants will need to arrange for their travel home. For more information call 403-851-2250.

We hope many Cochrane and area youth will join us for this fun, safe and interactive day.

Susan Flowers, manager, Cochrane Family & Community Support Services (FCSS)
