Cochrane dog owners can anticipate another off-leash area in the future, as the town is beginning to look at possible space along the pipeline corridor — north of Quigley Drive and west of Hwy 22.

Suzanne Gaida, senior manager of community services for the town, said that planning would likely begin next year, with a hopeful opening of the park in 2017.

She did say that it is very preliminary to confirm dates or location, but that the town has begun the conversation and are hopeful this large, open space could be utilized to take pressure off the existing off-leash park along the Bow River.

Gaida added that the town is also working with the developers in the communities of Fireside and Sunset Ridge with hopes that off-leash spaces are created in both communities.
