An option for 'Last Minute' shoppers

If you haven’t been able to fill your Santa boots with Christmas shopping, this weekend presents one more chance to add some bundles under that Christmas tree.

If you haven’t been able to fill your Santa boots with Christmas shopping, this weekend presents one more chance to add some bundles under that Christmas tree.

The Spray Lake Sawmills (SLS) Centre will be hosting their annual ‘Last Minute Christmas Sale’ on Dec. 15 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

“This year we’re putting it upstairs on the track,” said Adrienne Fedrigo, events and programs coordinator for the SLS Centre.

“We’ve partnered again with the Cochrane Farmer’s Market, so a lot of the same vendors that you see there will be here.”

Some of the so-far 65 vendors include such area food procurers as Baba’s Breads, Barnwood Crafts, Healthy Delights, Missing Link and Sweet Little Goods.

All vendors must meet the Cochrane Farmer’s Market mandate: to ‘make, bake or grow it’.

Fedrigo explained that the partnership works well and will likely continue in the years to come.

Table rentals are $65 for booths without power and $80 for booths with power; the money will go toward events overhead and SLS programs.

Also on Dec. 15, kids can take the rare opportunity to hit the ice and ‘Skate with Santa’ for the price of a donation to the Activettes Food Bank.

The Kids Zone Bouncers play area will be running from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The admission to the area is $5 per child and the funds raised will be donated to a local area charity.

There is no charge to attend the Last Minute Christmas Sale, but Fedrigo said donations of non-perishable food items to the Activettes Food Bank will be gratefully received.
