In 2013, the Cochrane Activettes established an annual bursary for 3,500 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the club. This bursary is to assist youths pursuing post secondary studies, specifically individuals who will be attending a technical school in the fall of 2019.
It is open to applicants that are graduating this year, or have recently graduated from a high school in Cochrane. Applicants must be 20 years of age or younger as of June 1, 2019, have volunteered in some capacity within the Cochrane community, and are experiencing financial difficulty in order to further their education.
The value of the bursary is $3,500 to be used toward tuition and compulsory fees.
Applicants must:
- Be attending or have attended a high school program in Cochrane and be 20 years of age or younger as of June 1 (application deadline)
- Have completed either a certificate of high school achievement or a high school diploma
- Have a conditional letter of acceptance from a post-secondary technical school or technical program
- Be experiencing financial difficulty in order to further their education
- Have provided some volunteer hours within the Cochrane community
