The Behtany Care Council is in the process of selling 5,000 50/50 tickets that will help it raise money for outdoor furniture at the Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane and give one lucky person some extra spending money this Christmas.

The Behtany Care Council is in the process of selling 5,000 50/50 tickets that will help it raise money for outdoor furniture at the Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane and give one lucky person some extra spending money this Christmas.

The hardy, accessible furniture will allow centre residents to enjoy the outdoors.

At $2 each, if all the tickets are sold, the winner and the council will split $10,000.

As of Dec. 12, a little more than 3,000 tickets have been sold and the council is making its final sales push before the Dec. 23 draw.

Ticket are available at the centre and will be sold atthe Frank Mills Christmas Market this Saturday.

Artisans rejoice this weekend.

The Local Artisan Christmas Market is this Saturday, featuring a variety of wood, glass, hand forged home décor, ceramic, body care, one of a kind artisan creations, recreations, upcycled gifts, cookies, hot chocolate and a book signing with local author Lisa Elle.

The market is on Dec. 17 from noon to 5:30 p.m. at the Frank Wills Memorial Hall, located at 405 First St. E.

The Santa Claus community visits finishes up tomorrow.

After visiting more than a dozen communities over the last week, old Saint Nick is packing up his sleigh on Dec. 16 and heading back to the north pole. Enjoy the visits for his last two days from 6 – 8 p.m. when Santa visits children, takes photos, and more.
