A live auction will be held as part of the Boots for Roots Barn Dance happening June 25 at the Old Cochrane Arena.

One item in particular will have art enthusiasts fawning – supper and dance ticketholders will be able to bid on a Mimi Stuart original energy of subject (EOS) painting for the Musical Gem series titled "Dance Party!".

“Mimi Stuart's signature style EOS has captivated the imagination of art connoisseurs and curators. EOS art unleashes intense colors and masterful lines to capture the essence of her subjects. Authentic 23k gold, silver and copper leaf add luster to her bold kinetic-expressionist canvases,” states Stuart’s website.

Stuart is an award-winning artist currently based out of Sun Valley, Idaho, United States. One of Stuart’s EOS originals, “Walking on Diamonds”, was acquired by the Smithsonian Institution to be displayed permanently in the High Art Exhibition in Washington, DC, United States.

“I worked with Mimi when I chaired the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation Gala, she’s super cool. And this painting is an original that she made specifically for the barn dance,” said Todd Simmer, owner of Big Sky Landscaping, the barn dance’s main sponsor.

Stuart was delighted to be able to contribute to the barn dance, for which the proceeds of will be donated to the Holy Spirit Catholic School’s playground fund.

“Dance Party!” is especially unique as it has been selected as the new wine label of the California-based, award-winning winery R&B Cellars. After the wine is bottled, the highest bidder will be able to see his or her artwork on the bottles of R&B Cellars Vermentino.

The auction will feature other unique items such as a donated outdoor fireplace/smoker oven valued at $20,000 from Big Sky Landscaping and a custom piece from Aeron E. King Goldsmith Custom Design Jewelry valued at $4,000.

Simmer said this event wouldn’t be possible without its many sponsors including XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
