Summer heat is met with solid beats this weekend in town.
Check out some of the live music hitting the stage at various venues beginning tonight.
The Venue
The Venue Bar and Grill is getting its honkey tonk on this Friday, Aug. 2 and Saturday, Aug. 3 with the country crooning sounds of Jeremy Dallas.
The Canadian Country Music Association Male Artist of the Year and Fan Favourite finalist will be playing into the late hours both nights.
Open mic is also there for the taking tonight (Thursday, Aug. 1) and the Sunday night jam this weekend.
Next weekend, “one of the most talented and vocally gifted bands out there” Wasted Nation will take the stage on Aug. 9-10.
Half Hitch
Half Hitch Brewing Company boasts Calgary country music singer/songwriter Anna Lewis tonight from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
MR MIKES
Gil Tougas, one of Calgary’s top-rated singer/songwriters and famed member of 80s rock kings band BROKENTOYZ, will be heading up Live in the Lodge tonight.
Each week, MR MIKES features acoustic acts in their lounge side from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Gentry
On Aug. 9, Bella Cat will take the acoustic stage at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $15, available in advance at the local coffe and wine bar.
Bella Cat will perform original music not a far cry from the likes of Amy Winehouse and Tina Turner, with musicial accompaniment.
