Bearspaw market returns this weekends

The annual Bearspaw Market is returning this weekend.

The annual Bearspaw Market is returning this weekend.

Starting the first Sunday in June to the first Sunday in October, the Bearspaw Market offers close to 100 vendors selling a variety of plants and produce, along with artisans products including iron, wood, silver and bone, natural cosmetics, crafted clothing, and floral arrangements.

The market is an Alberta Approved Farmers’ Market as approved by Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development (ARD). The ARD criterion requires markets to maintain an 80/20 local/non-local split; local is determined as from within the province of Alberta.

The market is run by volunteers, with proceeds going to a variety of charitable causes as chosen by the organization. Past recipients include Cochrane Activettes, Stars, the Cancer Society, Red Cross, Heart & Stroke Foundation, and the Interfaith Food Bank.

For four hours every Sunday, rain or shine the market will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bearspaw Lions Hall at 25240 Nagway Rd., located off of Highway 1A off of Bearspaw Road.

To apply to be a vendor email [email protected], or for more information go to the organization’s official Facebook page at “Bearspaw Lions Farmers Market” or bearspawlions.com.
