A car theft suspect has apparently taken his own mugshot with a cell phone reported as part of an automobile theft in Cochrane.

A vehicle was stolen from the Big Hill Leisure Pool on Nov. 25 between 6:30-7:30 p.m.

RCMP believe the suspect gained access to the victim’s locker at the pool and stole the victim’s keys and credit cards. The stolen credit card was used at the Calgary Crowfoot Co-op Store for two different transactions.

The stolen vehicle was recovered later that evening along with a cell phone containing a “selfie” of the suspect.

The RCMP are asking the public for assistance with identifying the male suspect.

Police are searching for a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, licence plate BMW 7913, stolen from the Wildcat Gas Plant west of Cochrane.

The truck was stolen Dec. 2 at approximately 3:15 p.m. and was reported being seen later in the day at approximately 7:30 p.m. northbound on Highway 2 in the Ponoka area.

If anyone sees the truck, if occupied do not approach and call 911. If the truck is unoccupied call the RCMP.

A 28-year-old Stoney Nakoda Nation man died from injuries caused from an altercation on Dec. 16.

Jay Rollinmud, 23, of Stoney Nation, has been charged with one count of manslaughter in relation to the death. It was reported the two men were celebrating earlier in the evening when they had a disagreement. The injured man was transported by STARS Air Ambulance to a Calgary hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Rollinmud was remanded to custody and was scheduled to make a court appearance on Dec. 22.
