A Calgary suspect has been charged for drug offences following a traffic stop in Cochrane.
The traffic stop that resulted in drug charges occurred this past Friday in the Fireside subdivision in Cochrane. The driver was pulled over in a Chevrolet Cobalt for a Traffic Safety Act violation on Nov. 26 at 3 p.m. when, during the investigation, the driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Further investigation revealed four other different drugs.
Jesse William Smith, 26, was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of ketamine for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl and MDMA).
Smith has been released before a Justice of the Peace and has his first court appearance in Cochrane on Dec. 15.
