Cochrane Bridal Fair organizer Sharon Johnson is doing everything she can to get as many people to attend this Sunday's event as possible, including hawking free tickets.

That's right, if you want to go and skip the minimal $5 entry fee, Johnson said to shoot her an email at [email protected] and she will put you on the list.

"My goal is to just get traffic," she said, adding she wants to get as much value for the vendors as possible.

Weather last year threw a bit of a wrench into the festivities as a blizzard the previous day kept the crowds away.

This year's forecast is a better, if not cold, and jonhson is hopeful brides-to-be will flock to the event to see what the 22 vendors have to offer.

Back this year is also the sample sale with Calgary bridal store Cameo and Cufflinks featuring 100 gowns to suit multiple tastes.

"Last year, the discounts were up to 70 per cent," Johnson said of another motivator to attend the show.

New this year is a cash beer and wine bar and back are the photo booth and limo rides to add to the authentic wedding day experience.

The fashion show has been removed for this year's event and Johnson said that is kind of indicative of the times, adding that Airdrie is not even holding its fair this year.
