Camp Adventure was not thankful for the theft over Thanksgiving weekend.

More than $10,000 worth of items were reported stolen on Oct. 11 from Camp Adventure, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary’s camp that is located on 64 acres in the heart of Kananaskis Country.

Camp Adventure’s kitchen/mess hall was under renovations after it was demolished to construct a new building. Construction started earlier this fall with crews working throughout the week. The theft took place over the Thanksgiving weekend before the snow hit, with the crew reporting the burglary on the following Tuesday.

“The sea cans were cut open and tools and kitchen appliances were missing,” said Sgt. Darleen White with the Cochrane RCMP.

Rachel Evans, with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary, said she could not comment on the incident because it is under investigation by the RCMP.

The investigation is on-going.
