The layout of the community and the focus on the success of the Quarry has resulted in a perceived rift between our growing business community and our Historic Downtown businesses. How will you, as a mayor or councillor, foster a business community that is more cohesive?

Cochrane has a young and vibrant business community uniquely situated between the modern amenities of the Quarry and culture and charm of the Historic Downtown Cochrane. With the residential development and growth Cochrane has experienced (and continues to experience) comes the necessity for the convenience of goods and services associated with the businesses in the Quarry. The Town of Cochrane has supported this business area with the necessary access and infrastructure needed for its success. I believe town council needs to focus greater on our Historic Downtown Cochrane by both supporting and participating in it. Our Historic Downtown Cochrane represents Cochrane’s heart and soul; showcasing the values and traditions we all cherish and appreciate about our community. The need to support this cultural business district has never been greater as we fight to preserve the small town feel and quality of life we all enjoy in Cochrane.

If elected, I will work hard to support all businesses in Cochrane with a specific focus on supporting current and future initiatives that will ensure the continued success and preservation of the Historic Downtown Cochrane.
