The annual Cochrane Christmas Craft Market will be “bigger and better” this year according to organizers.

“We are bigger and better than we have ever been,” said organizer Maria Berjian. “There is a huge variety of tables and it will get you into the Christmas spirit.”

It is also the market that gives back.

Asking an admission fee and charging the vendors a table fee, organizers want to assure attendees that the money raised stays in the community.

“[The Cochrane Lioness Club] is a local group that supports local charities and we sponsor a lot of scholarships and such throughout the community,” Berjian said.

The annual market will host around 40 vendors, trying to focus on local artisans. Organizers are hopeful guests find the perfect Christmas gift with crafts such as knitting, woodwork, soaps, and jewelry.

“The more people that come and buy, that will be great because then it makes our market stronger,” Berjian said.

The market will also have live entertainment with Miss Mozart and the local Glee Club performing. And the event is family-friendly, with colouring tables set up for children. Organizers also hinted at Santa Claus making an appearance.

The annual Cochrane Christmas Craft Market, hosted by the Cochrane Lioness Club at the Cochrane Alliance Church, goes 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 7.
