Mounties in Cochrane are looking for a male suspect who tried to lure a child into his van in the Sunset neighbourhood yesterday evening.
The male approached the 11-year-old female while she was walking home in the area of Sunset Park and Sunset Way. According to RCMP, he told her he had an ice cream business and asked her if she wanted to get into the back of his van.
The girl pretended to make a phone call to her father and was able to get away.
The male suspect is described as being 40 to 50 years old with a medium build and pot belly. He has shaggy brown hair, which looked dyed, and he was wearing a red and blue flannel shirt and jeans.
His vehicle is described as a white, full-sized van with rusted wheel wells. It potentially has a black roof rack, according to the description.
