Businesses partnering with Rock the Waves

Starting June 1, local businesses will be introducing special products or services with a portion of proceeds going towards Cochrane’s new aquatic, curling and multisport centre.

The Rock the Waves’ campaign goal is to raise $10.6 million through contributions and sponsorships. Contributions made to date is $4.6 million, according to the website.

Any businesses that want to participate can contact Rebecka Freels at [email protected] or 403-851-2576. The official opening of the new facility is June 25.

World religious conference

Residents are invited to the ninth annual world religious conference on May 24.

Scholars from Christianity, Judaism, Baha’i and Islam will be in attendance to discuss the topics, global conflicts, justice and forgiveness.

Doors are open at 6:30 p.m. at the RancheHouse Theater, located at 101 RancheHouse Road. There is no admission.

Springbank awards night

Parents and guests are invited to attend the annual Springbank Fine Arts and Languages award night on May 25.

High school students will be honoured with awards for their talents in international languages and fine arts, including drama and music. Organizers said the evening will be a celebration for everyone, offering good company and food.

There is no admission and everyone is invited to attend.

The award ceremony will be on May 25 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Springbank Community High School, located at 32226 Springbank Road.
