The day starts at 10 a.m. with demos from Cochrane Minor Soccer for those interested in signing up to play. Also, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., children can drop-in with the University of Calgary Gymnastics club. The drop-in cost is $5 per child, which is not included in the Family Day pass cost.

Performing demos at 12:15 p.m. is the Bow Valley Rugby Club for kids under 16 years of age. At 1:15 p.m. there will be demos from the club for interested players aged16 and up.

The Cochrane RCMP will be taking on the Cochrane Fire Department in a hockey game at 2 p.m. Miss Mozart’s Choir will be signing Oh Canada to start off the game.

Information booths will be set up all day for Cochrane BMX, Cochrane Minor Soccer, Bow Valley Rugby Club, and Miss Mozart’s Choir.

Children aged 2-10 are invited to play on the six bouncers that will be set up at the centre. The turf at the centre will be open from 2:15 p.m.-4 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 draw with half the proceeds going to the Rock the Waves fundraising initiative.

“With the commitment of town council, dedicated partners and the enthusiasm of the community, we’re working together to build Cochrane’s new aquatic and curling facility for the community’s enjoyment, now and for a long time to come,” states Rock the Waves’ website.

Pat’s Palate Pleasers will be open from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. within the centre serving a variety of food from its SLSFSC kitchen. There are also multiple vending machines on location for food and drink options.

Parking is limited due to construction, so the centre asks that everyone please plan ahead and come early.
