Emergency services responded to a fatal accident on the train tracks on Fifth Avenue near the Fas Gas at approximately 8:45 p.m. EMS on scene have confirmed a 49-year-old male pedestrian was killed when he was struck by the eastbound train while trying to cross the tracks. A police report states the man was trying to cross while the crossing lights and the crossing arms were active. "Ultimately, the crew determined that he was deceased and the scene has been left in care for RCMP for now," said Stuart Brideaux, spokesperson for AHS Emergency Services. CP rail is at the head of the investigation. No further details are available.
