Spend your Saturday tree planting with the 21st annual Branches and Banks event on Oct. 1.
The theme this year is Field to Forest hosted in the Bow Meadows community, which will have volunteers cleaning the creek and river while also planting up to 1,500 trees from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Organizers want to remind volunteers to bring gloves, spades and shovels, and proper weather attire, as the event will happen rain or shine. The annual cleanup will wrap up with a volunteer appreciation barbecue.
