Saffron Collective Studios is ready to fill Cochrane’s bowls.

The pottery studio is hosting its annual Empty Bowls fundraiser on Canada Day.

Hosted at Addie’s Creative Fabrics, at 420 1 St. West, the fundraiser will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For $20, residents will receive a bowl, plate, or mug handcrafted by the studio. Participants can then select one of the participating restaurants in town to have it filled with something delicious.

Fundraiser participants can choose to enjoy spaghetti and meat sauce at Ducks on the Roof Sports Bar & Grill; single-serve ice cream at MacKay’s; fish and chips at Schooners on First; a cup of coffee at Guy’s Café & Bakery; a cup of tea at Tea & Other Things; a scone at COBS Bread Bakery; a small meal at Mehtab Indian Cuisine; free tastings and 10 per cent off a bottle of oil or vinegar at Rustic Olive; or soup at Twisted Basil.

The studio and volunteers have more than 200 bowls, plates and mugs up for grabs. There will be wheel throwing demonstrations by the studio that day as well, weather permitting.

The event is rain or shine with proceeds going toward the Cochrane Activettes Food Bank.
