The funding process for Cochrane’s Parent Link Centre (PLC) will be changing.

The centre was notified by Alberta Children’s Services on Wednesday by letter. The centre says all current programs at PLC, the Western Rocky View Resource Centre and home visitation will remain in place until at least the end of March 2020.

Future funding decisions will be made by Alberta Children’s Services based on responses to expressions of interest. The requests for expressions of interest were released Thursday (Nov. 7).

Staff in Cochrane will be taking a close look at the new process and the requirements so they’re better equipped to apply for funding under the new model.

The Town of Cochrane will continue to deliver programs for children and families in the area and are optimistic that programs and services delivered by PLC and the resource centre align with the provincial framework.

Current PLC programs include developmental play programs, parent education, developmental screening, Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), parent resource library, family support and rural programs in Bearspaw, Beaupre and Bragg Creek.
