If you don’t have lunch plans on Christmas day, a Cochrane restaurant will be providing a festive meal – and it will be on the house.
Jaipur India Cuisine will be hosting a free buffet on Dec. 25 from 12 to 2 p.m. and all are welcome to dine.
“The community here is really nice and supporting. So this is a small thank you gesture from our side,” said Sandeep Sidhu, one of two partnering owners of the restaurant.
Last year, Sidhu and his partner, Sanjay Yadav, were in the works of planning a similar lunch, but due to a family emergency, they ended up having to close the restaurant for all of December and fly to India.
This year, they are hoping for a large turn out.
“It’s the first time we are organizing this. We are expecting around 500,” Sidhu said.
The restaurant will be cooking rice, naan bread, butter chicken, veggies and chickpeas, and desert.
Since the restaurant itself can only accommodate up to 30 people at a time, Sidhu said they are encouraging take-out and will be providing boxes to do so.
Sidhu, who moved to Cochrane in 2013 and took over the business with Yadav two years ago, said he is looking forward to Cochranites coming out.
“Come one, come all and all are welcome.”
