Global Pet Foods honoured their beloved, late store mascot Roxie by raising more than $1,300 in her honour to be presented to the Cochrane and Area Humane Society (CAHS).
The funds will go toward the Rehabilitation and Education Centre – the newest addition to the CAHS that is being built behind the existing facility. The shelter is sitting at more than 83 per cent of its $143,000 goal, according to the last report by the Eagle.
Global raised the funds through raffle tickets sales for the bike trailer raffled in honour, as well as through their ‘Remembering Roxie’ event held July 23.
Roxie, a chocolate lab, died last fall and the store, who used to celebrate her birthday by offering customer discounts on that day has chosen to continue to celebrate its precious pooch by hosting an annual event.
