Residents in the community of Heartland are beginning to express frustrations as multiple delays have pushed back the completion of the pedestrian crossing at Horse Creek Road.

With no safe walking access out of the community and to nearby schools, the hope is that communication between the Town of Cochrane and CP Rail will resume, and the project can be complete in the near future.

The Town of Cochrane has paved a portion of the pedestrian pathway crossing at Horse Creek Road and is waiting on CP Rail to install the crossing gates before the remainder of the crossing can be finished.

"Work on the crossing is progressing. CP plans to complete the crossing before the year-end, 2019," said Andy Cummings, manager of media relations at Canadian Pacific.

While patience is being had by community members, the end is in sight as a main safe route will soon be established alleviating Heartland's growing concern.
