With the first phase largely complete, construction on the Highway 1A improvements project has wrapped for the season.
Work completed to date includes the relocation of shallow and deep utilities, and municipal and franchise utilities.
Finished Hwy. 1A improvements include adding a second eastbound lane up the hill, a westbound to southbound left turn lane onto Centre Avenue, a westbound through-lane and northbound and southbound lanes between Highway 1A and 2 Street.
According to the town, if warm weather persists through the late fall, it may allow for completion of the pedestrian sidewalk starting at 2 Avenue East to Hwy. 1A to Centre Avenue and to the Sheridan Mall.
