Earlier this month in Cochrane court, Kyle Knowles pleaded guilty to a charge of hunting in the Harold Creek wildlife sanctuary. The courts heard that Knowles was observed exiting his vehicle and shooting twice from the roadway at a deer.

There are numerous signs placed around the sanctuary stating that hunting is not permitted, and this is also well-documented online and in the hunting regulations. The sanctuary was put in place due to the low numbers of wildlife in the area.

Knowles received a $3,000 fine and a five-year recreational hunting licence suspension. No animals were harmed.
