A crude oil leak west of Bragg Creek was discovered last Thursday.

Husky Energy reported the spill on March 17 after noticing the leak in the afternoon.

The pipeline release of crude oil affected Coxhill Creek, approximately 22 kilometres west of Bragg Creek.

The site has since been shut down and depressurized, according to Monica Hermary, Alberta Energy Regulator spokesperson.

“There have been no reported impacts to the public or wildlife,” Hermary said.

“We are continuing to work with the company to make sure all safety and environmental requirements are met.”

The amount of crude oil leaked is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
