Ladies Livestock winter workshop to take place on Jan. 23

Kneehill County, Mountain View County, MD of Bighorn, Cows and Fish, Foothills Forage and Grazing Association, Wheatland County, and Rocky View County will be hosting the 2016 Ladies Livestock Lessons winter workshop.

Kneehill County, Mountain View County, MD of Bighorn, Cows and Fish, Foothills Forage and Grazing Association, Wheatland County, and Rocky View County will be hosting the 2016 Ladies Livestock Lessons winter workshop.

The workshop will take place at the Weedon Pioneer Community Hall, at 42299 Weedon Trail, on Saturday, Jan. 23 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The afternoon sessions will be held at the Cochrane & District Agricultural Society Arena at 43080 Bow Valley Trail.

The agenda for the day will include presentations from Curt Pate, Dr. Melody Chan, Stan Cena, Dr. Edward Bork, Shannon Argent, and Dr. Alycia Chrenek.

“(It’s) an opportunity to learn, socialize & connect with farming women,” states the event’s website.

The workshop presentations will touch on various topics such as roping, grazing, cattle and equine vaccines, and stockmanship.

Registration is $50 per participant and includes “all sessions, meals, coffee and snacks.”

“As space is limited, pre-registration is required,” states the event’s website.

Registration for this event ends Monday, Jan. 18.
