LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Kindness goes a long way in troubling times

I am trying to understand why this question by the elderly lady bothered you so much! I agree with many things you said but I also disagree with many.

In response to A. Lapierre's letter last week I am trying to understand why this question by the elderly lady bothered you so much! I agree with many things you said but I also disagree with many. All your so-called rights that you gave up, were given up by ALL to help to slow down the epidemic and keep you safe. I also feel wearing a mask is the same request. Really how hard is it to put on a mask when you are out and close to other people? I agree many people feel anxious, how can you not with all the information sent out to us daily. One has to figure out what is true and what is fear-mongering.

I know going out is my way to have things become normal for me, even if it is just going to the grocery store and I wear a mask. I try to keep others safe and myself. It is your right to do as you wish. Currently, two groceries stores in Cochrane has enforced mask-wearing, what will you do if all stores request mask-wearing? Oh yes, you can take advantage of the grocery pick up service. (As you advised to the elderly and the immune-compromised.)

I agree we need to treat each other with respect and common decency. I feel a little kindness will go a long way in these troubling times. Please keep yourself safe and your loved ones.
