Tomorrow is the final day to vote for the Cochrane Public Library, which has been nominated to receive a People's Choice Award through the annual YOU Libraries Award, sponsored by Alberta Municipal Affairs.

The library has been nominated for a Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Library Service for the Book Bash Canadian Children's Literature Festival held last fall. In turn, this nomination has made the library eligible for the YOU Libraries Award, which is determine by popular vote.

The event drew author-presenters, children's songwriting icon Fred Penner and a bevy of entertainment.

“Being able to bring the Book Bash Children's Literature Festival to Cochrane was an achievement in of itself, but it would really mean the world to us if we could also win this prestigious award for Cochrane, ” said Andrea Johnston, community outreach and program librarian for the library.

Library patrons can vote as many time as they wish at http://www.laa.ca/youaward. Voting ends tomorrow (March 23).

The award will be presented to the winning library board at the Alberta Library Conference April 27.
