Klondike is a three-part mini series that was filmed at the CL Western Town Studio and Backlot on the CL Ranch property, located just south of Highway 1 in the Jumping Pound area. CL Western Town was transformed into Dawson City, Yukon for the series.

The show is Discovery’s first scripted mini-series and is based on Charlotte Gray’s book Gold Diggers: Striking It Rich in the Klondike. It stars Richard Madden, Abbie Cornish, Sam Shepard and Tim Roth.

According to the Discover Channel’s website, production began in March 2013 and was produced with the assistance of the Government of Alberta’s Alberta Film Development Program.

CL Ranch has had a number of films and television series filmed at its location, including Lonesome Dove, Little Big Man and Shanghai Noon.

The 66th annual awards will be hosted by Seth Meyers and will air Aug. 25 on CTV and NBC.
