The Cochrane RCMP continue to seek assistance from the public in locating two suspects captured on a surveillance camera, entering vehicles shortly after 1 a.m. Nov. 7 in the neighbourhood of Jumping Pound.

The one suspect appears to be a Caucasian male in his 20s, tall with a slender build, wearing dark pants and a light coloured jacket with a hood and light coloured cap.

The suspects may be associated with a white Acura MDX that was seen in the area.

Corp. Troy Savinkoff with the Cochrane RCMP said the local detachment is advising people to be mindful of locking their car and house doors, as there appears to be a group of individuals who are mobile and are patrolling various neighbourhoods around Cochrane, attempting to break into vehicles and steal them or remove items from them.

“If people do observe an offence taking place, they are encouraged not to shout or approach these individuals at all,” said Savinkoff.

“A quick call to the RCMP without alerting these subjects is our best chance of apprehending them.”

He stressed that these individuals seem to be mobile (travelling around in vehicles, not on foot) and people should be vigilant about having their garage door openers stolen — as access to homes are often gained this way.
