Alcohol and speed believed to be a factor in collision

STARS airlifted a driver after a collision last week.

A single-vehicle rollover sent two Calgarians to hospital after the collision last Thursday. The 20-year-old male driver from Calgary went in the ditch off of Highway 1, travelling eastbound at approximately 8 p.m., with speed and alcohol believed to be a factor.

The driver was airlifted by STARS with serious life-threatening injuries but since has stabilized. The 19-year-old female from Calgary was also taken to hospital by ground ambulance but has since also been listed in stable condition.

Charges are pending following an investigation.
