This holiday season the Cochrane Movie House is inviting the community to share in a classic Christmas flick – It’s a Wonderful Life. The showings will be free and will run Dec. 21-24.

Nicole Copses is a manager and event coordinator at the Cochrane Movie House and said showing the movie is all about the Christmas spirit.

“If we can do something to give back that little bit of family spirit and give back to our community, then absolutely we are all for it,” she said. “We can encourage families to come down watch a movie, feel good and bring along the whole family and not have to worry about cost.”

Copses said this is the fourth year they have held the Holiday screenings and it originally started when True Directional Services approached them with the idea. They remain a sponsor and Bonavista Energy Corporation has also come on board.

Copses said each year the showings have become more popular, and last year they had three times the amount of viewers turn out than the first year.

Copses said people still need a ticket to attend to ensure the Movie House stays within capacity. Tickets are available the day of the showing when the theatre opens at noon.

From Dec. 21-23, Seniors for Kids Society will be accepting donations for the society at the showings, which begins at 3 p.m. There will also be two showings Dec. 24, one at 1 p.m. and another at 3:30 p.m. For more information call 403-932- 7672.
