New caf é owners to host grand opening

Officially under new ownership, the Legacy Coffee House will host the grand re-opening of the café this Saturday, as the Heritage House Coffee Co.

“We are excited about this place and the new possibilities,” said Christophe Larribeau, one of the five business partners who took ownership of the café earlier this year.

The grand opening will be on March 12, with free coffee, taste samples, live music from noon-1 p.m. with Brit folk dance music and a concert performed by Calgary band, the T. Buckley Trio, that evening. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The new owners are excited to showcase the different look and menu changes, describing the new café as a “community-minded coffee shop.”

“The majority of the staff are the same, and we’ve kept the menu favourites and added some healthy options and kids meals as well,” Larribeau said.

The new owners are also open to renting out the café for community programs, with Paint Nights already in discussion, to be scheduled.

“We’ve added some western heritage feel – and small touches here and there to make it feel homey,” said part-owner Tim Davidson.

The Legacy Guitar House will continue its music business and lessons at the back of the building.

“We just want to give the (former owner) Tom some credit for what he has built here – really we are just adding to it,” Davidson said.
