Cochrane Fire Services will welcome a new fire chief this month.
Dave Humphrey will step into the role Nov. 17, replacing current fire chief Mac de Beaudrap.
Humphrey was the deputy chief for Cochrane several years ago but spent the last few years working for the provincial government.
Current fire chief de Beaudrap will continue on in his role as senior manager of protective services for the Town of Cochrane.
He has spent the last five and a half years as fire chief for the town and said he will ‘greatly miss’ serving as fire chief.
“This will be a big change for me and for the town,” said de Beaudrap, adding that he would now ‘refocus his energy to provide better protective services for the town.’
