The much anticipated wait is over as Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sport Centre has revealed their new membership structure on Oct. 15. The new membership is providing sensible pricing for those interested in enjoying the entire facility.

Prior to the release of the new structure there was a number of different memberships you could obtain making it rather difficult to focus on the one simple thing that everyone wanted - access to the full facility and its programs. Now, with the new structure you can do just that.

SLSFSC offers an aquatic centre and a 19,000 square-foot fitness facility which includes Olympic squat racks, a dance and yoga space, martial arts studios, three NHL sized arenas, a curling centre, gymnasium, indoor turf, climbing centre and play zone bouncers.

Guest service representative Gary Lerette explains that the new membership structure will be facility-wide.

"It's not just the pool anymore, it's not just fitness anymore, it's everything," he said.

"(If) you want to go ice skating, sticks and pucks, sticks and rings, in the summer time they do the in-line skating and they have all the different rooms so you can do drop-in yoga, drop-in barre, drop-in Zumba. It's all included with this membership now."

New adult membership prices are:

Monthly Rate: Child (2-12) $29, Youth (13-22) $39, Adult (23-59) $49, Senior (60+) $39, Family (2 Adults/unlimited dependents up to aged 22) $99

Annual Rate: Child (2-12) $330, Youth (13-22) $445, Adult (23-59) $559, Senior (60+) $445, Family (2 Adults/unlimited dependents up to aged 22) $1129

Lerette adds the only thing not included in the new membership is the registered programs at the facility. Clients that are signing up for the new membership will receive a welcome package which includes a bag and three full day passes. They will also enjoy member privileges including an advance program registration, 10 per cent discount on personal training, 10 per cent discount of party packages and 25 per cent discount on registered fitness programs.

With the new drop-in rates you are now able to pay a flat rate which will give you access to all the amenities. With the previous structure you were only allowed access to a specific area like the pool or fitness centre. If you wanted to do both you would have to pay for each, unless you purchased a day pass.

"Now if you drop-in it has gone up from $12 to $15; however, you can do everything for the whole day. You can come in the morning go for a swim, do a workout then go do your shopping or whatever you want to do, then come back in the afternoon or after dinner and go for another swim, it's good for the whole day," said Lerette.

Drop-In rates:

Day Pass: Child (2-12) $8, Youth (13-22) $10, Adult (23-59) $15, Senior (60+) $10, Family (2 Adults/unlimited dependents up to aged 22) $25

Parents with children should note there have been changes to the child-minding program. It is now called "Play Care" with extended hours of operation which include Saturdays. There is some new play equipment and toys. The program privileges are once per day for up to 90 minutes for children three months to eight years of age. If you are a member it will either be $149 per year or $12.50 per month for one child or $199 per year or $16.60 per month for two or more children.
