Brewster Travel Canada decides service to Cochrane is not a “viable” option.
Despite an unofficial announcement at a Jan. 19 Cochrane Tourism meeting from Brewster’s general manager of transportation, Steven Tulloch, that Brewster Travel would start introducing daily schedules to the local community – officials made the decision to not bring the shuttle service to Cochrane.
“After final evaluation, we will not be beginning a service that will include Cochrane,” said Michelle Gaudet, media relations specialist at Brewster Travel Canada.
The unofficial announcement made in January suggested shuttle service would start this spring – but after discussion and deliberations, officials decided the service would not be a viable option for the company.
“We are making a lot of changes that will include our Brewster-Banff airport express, as well as our Explore the Rockies sightseeing tour but it is not a viable solution at this time to stop in Cochrane, but it is in consideration for future years,” Gaudet said.
Brewster Travel Canada media specialists said any decision to consider bringing the service to Cochrane will be reviewed again after 2017.
“If and when it was a possibility (to collaborate with Cochrane) we would be excited, but unfortunately at this time, it is not,” Gaudet said.
Brewster Travel Canada currently offers the Brewster Banff Airport Express with regular shuttles between downtown Calgary, Calgary International Airport (YYC), Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Canmore, Kananaskis and Stoney Nakoda, with connections to Red Deer and Edmonton – and various Activities in the Rockies shuttle service and tours.
