On-It Regional Transit will resume its transit shuttle services from Calgary to Banff/Canmore but will not be stopping in Cochrane this year.
According to Jonathan Weal of Southland Transportation, the busing giant that took over On-It earlier this year, public feedback since its piloted 2017 summer season run revealed that there were not enough passengers getting on and off in Cochrane – between zero and four people per day.
The feedback also revealed that most people preferred to drive to the Crowfoot LRT station, where there were multiple On-It stops throughout the day.
The transit service only stopped in Cochrane twice each way daily, which most passengers found to be inconvenient.
Tickets are $10 one-way. The summer shuttle program runs on weekends and holidays, beginning May 19-Sept. 3.
