Cochrane RCMP have made a pair of arrests in connection with the Nov. 29 robbery of Late Hours Liquor Store.

Partnering with Calgary Police Services, Cochrane RCMP were granted four search warrants in relation to the robbery and, as a result, have arrested two 16-year-old males, both students at William Aberhart High School in Calgary.

The warrants allowed police to search the two residences in Calgary – one in Hawkwood, the other in Valley Ridge – a locker at the high school and a vehicle.

During the search, police recovered various items stolen during the robbery, as well as items used in the theft itself.

During the robbery, which took place at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Nov. 29, one suspect was wearing a mask and the other a bandanna over his face. They entered the store and proceeded to steal a large amount of liquor, which they placed in backpacks.

One of the suspects was in possession of a metal weapon and attacked the lone sales clerk, who was treated at hospital for minor injuries.

Both youths are currently in custody in Cochrane and face robbery and being in disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence charges.

Additional charges may also be laid.
