Due to low volunteer numbers, Cochrane's Parade of Lights scheduled for this Saturday Dec. 7 has been cancelled.
"Barricades are so important, if it was anything else, I wouldn't have cancelled but barricades you have to have well covered," explains Stephenie Shelstad, organizer for the Parade of Lights.
Unfortunately this time of year is busy for many individuals with Christmas parties in the mix, last minute Christmas shopping and a number of events around Cochrane that have required many efforts of volunteers.
"I'm not surprised, everyone gets burned out after a while," said Shelstad.
Shelstad is in the process of informing all those involved about the cancellation but is hopeful that next year, Cochranites will have some fuel left in their tanks come the busiest time of the year.
