One of the North Pole sponsors for the first ever Cochrane Santa Claus Parade will be bringing some Holiday cheer to the Cochrane Activettes Food Bank.

Brookfield Residential will be donating $2,200 to the food bank in order to ‘deepen its roots in the community and give back to those in need.’

In a media release from Brookfield Residential, the developer said that it opted for a smaller, less expensive parade float so that the money saved could be put towards the charitable donation.

As a North Pole sponsor, a team of ‘Brookfield Residential elves’ will be onsite handing out hot chocolate, candy canes and participating in the parade.

The parade will be taking place Dec. 13 from 5 – 6 p.m., with a collection of floats, musicians and performers. It will start at the old IGA parking lot and move down 1st Street, coming to and end at Frank Wills Memorial Hall.

According to the release, the partnership between Brookfield Residential and the Cochrane Santa Claus Parade is in anticipation of their move to call Cochrane home. As of 2015, Brookfield will be building homes in a community on the Northwest side of town located north of Highway 1A and west of Highway 22.
