Phantoms Music is plugging in for another season of students — welcoming faces new and old for another year of aspiring musicianship.

With five teachers on staff (guitar, piano and vocal) and a wide assortment of instruments and accessories to boot, Phantoms may be the lesson haus to get your budding musician a start.

“I have a good assortment of three quarter and half-sized guitars that are great for little folks — who struggle at first with sore fingers and calluses,” said Gary Lefebvre, store owner, guitar and drum instructor.

“I try to find the best, playable instruments for entry level players,” said Lefebvre, a lifelong musician who spent 30 years on the circuit as a touring drummer and has ran Phantoms Music since 2006.

The music shop — which has everything from axes to straps, strings to reeds, books to picks, mics to amps — is beginning its fourth year at its current location at 214 Grand Blvd., Bay 3.

Lefebvre said the sooner parents are able to get their youth signed up, the better — as time slots fill up quickly by the end of September; thirty minute lessons are $27.

Phantoms also rents out PA systems for a variety of corporate and community events and Lefebvre has shelled out countless volunteer hours to support community events, including the annual Stoney Nakoda Pickin’ Party.

Lefebvre will also be manning the sound at the RCMP Musical Ride this Sept. 6-7 at the Ag Society.

Phantoms Music can be reached at 403-851-1273.
