A FUNdraiser will be held at the local sports bar Ducks on the Roof this Saturday with monies going towards a playground for RancheView School.
Organizer Cochranite Marni Fedeyko is hosting the event in honour of her 40th birthday and is hopeful to bring together friends and guests to raise money for the playground.
“It’s got nothing to do with me – it is an opportunity to fundraise for a good cause,” Fedeyko explained.
“The school needs lots of help – they need to raise between $200,000-$250,000 to build a playground. RVS (Rocky View Schools) gives nothing and the Town of Cochrane does not contribute, it is really up to that parent fundraising effort.”
Tickets for the event are selling for $20, which buys a steak sandwich and a drink at the local pub. The fundraiser will also have a silent auction, which Fedeyko said she has already obtained 20 items.
“If we can fill Ducks, all the better,” Fedeyko said. “Hopefully it will go good.”
